Our first date was one of the most romantic days of my life. We went to the Redwood Room with live acoustic music. A sweet southern gentleman managed to take me out on one of the coldest MN winters nights in history. We sat, talk and listen to live music. We laughed the evening away.

The first time I met Jim he had me instantly won over with his sweet southern accent. The moment he started talking it felt like we were the only ones in the room. His southern charm had my heart immediately.

MN to Louisiana

Jim and I flew down to Louisiana the next day after having Christmas with my family. Sometime during the time spent with my family Jim asked my father and brothers for their blessings. He told them it would be a couple months as he had no plans yet on when or where to propose. 

After speaking with my grandmother and Father and showing them the ring they both asked 
"What I was waiting for to propose". It was a gorgeous December evening/day in Louisiana and I asked Sara if she wanted to go out in the boat and go fishing. At that time I had no intention on proposing, we headed out and that's when it hit me it was the perfect day and time. I asked Sara if she wanted some wine. She agreed, I turned the boat around and went inside and grabbed the ring and a bottle of wine. As the sun was setting I drove the boat to the middle of the lake and got down on one knee and asked the love of my life to marry me. In SHOCK she said yes.

The Proposal

Louisiana it is

Jim is beginning his one year sports fellowship starting July 1 of this year at Mayo Clinic. This is a very exciting year for us as Jim will be on the hunt for a job somewhere in the states and we also will be getting married down in Louisiana. We are excited to start several new journeys and look forward to making new memories together.
